Beginning Botanical Illustration: Cacti & Succulents
Class | This program has been canceled
Are you drawn to the fine details of the flora around you? Do you want to hone your realistic watercolor and drawing skills? Cacti and succulents are a great subject to learn the basics of botanical illustration in watercolor. Learn ways watercolor can render detail, texture, and color of these wonderful plants. Gain experience using found or personal photographs to expedite the drawing process. Specimens, value studies, and color mixing will be our tools to sharpen your composition. Basic drawing and painting experience is preferred but not required. This course utilizes technology such as smartphones, photo editing, and printing. Assistance for these tools will be available. Optional research field trip to the Volunteer Park Conservatory.
We recommend that everyone registered for an in-person program at Gage Academy of Art receives full COVID-19 vaccination. Gage leaves the use of face coverings when indoors at the facility up to each individual as masks are not required.
