Learn the basics of working from the live model. We’ll discuss different working methods like block-ins and gesture drawing, cover core anatomical landmarks, and develop the working methods necessary to take on both long and short figure drawings in open studios.


  • 18x24 or 14x17 sketch paper (Biggie Sketch, Fabriano Drawing, Strathmore all great, 80-90lbs)
    18x24 newsprint (optional)
    1 box of soft vine charcoal (optional)
    2H, HB, 2b, 4B drawing pencils
    Metal sharpener
