Portrait Drawing on Toned Paper, with Graphite and White Chalk

LOCATION NOTE: This class will be taking place at our brand new South Lake Union location, 2107 Westlake Ave.
This course is an all day, five-day workshop. Each morning begins with a two hour demonstration. After a short break, the students draw from the model for the remainder of the morning. Then after a lunch break, Anthony Ryder will give critiques for three hours in the afternoon.
Paper:
Strathmore 400 Series Artagain 12”x18” pad, assorted tints
and/or:
Strathmore Artagain, in single, 19”x25” sheets,
recommended colors: Moonstone, Gotham gray & Steel gray
White Chalk Pencils:
Three each: General's White Charcoal pencils
Graphite Pencils:
Three each: 3B, 4B, 5B, 6B, 8B
Erasers:
1 medium Prismacolor kneaded
Pentel Hi-Polymer White Cap, 10-pack
Tombow Mono Zero, Round 2.3mm
Drawing Board(s):
1/2” Foam Core
For 12”x18” pad: 13½”x19½”
For 19”x25” sheets: 19 1/2" by 25 1/2"
(Recommendation: buy 30x40 sheet and cut down to size. Use
a sharp x-acto or matte knife, and a straight, aluminum yardstick. Please watch your fingers! Save scraps for other uses.)
