Beginning Figure Drawing Primer
Weekend Workshop | Available
LOCATION NOTE: This class will be taking place at our brand new South Lake Union location, 2107 Westlake Ave.
Covering an introduction to figure drawing with starting concepts and strategies, This workshop is a course for those who wish to start or review their figure drawing skills.
'Artist don't copy what we see, but we utilize strategies to interpret what we see.'
Developing figure drawings through observations from the model, our goal is to find ways to start and develop a figure drawing. Workshop will start with shorter poses to introduce "starting strategies" and longer poses with the goal to establish a proportional figure drawing considering skeletal masses and clear light and shadow patterns from a directional light source.
This course seeks to expose concepts employed by the figure draughtsman. Workshop drawings will introduce and practice these strategies. Drawing exercises have the goal to gain confidence by learning reliable methods to practice and solve the visual drawing challenges of drawing the figure.
All levels welcome; No figure drawing experience needed. I will respond to each students experience, but previous drawing experience is helpful.
