Watercolor Landscapes Inspired by the Art of John Singer Sargent
Weekend Workshop | Available
Develop your painting practice with a special focus on light and color. View the work of John Singer Sargent as a source of inspiration for creating loose, vibrant paintings that radiate with light and character. Explore ways to describe the quality of light through value contrast, temperature, color, and the direction of cast shadows. Develop your landscape painting skills by learning to simplify complex subjects, create strong compositions based on value, and build layers of beautiful transparent washes. Some photo references will be provided, but students are invited to bring several personal images for inspiration as well.
