Mixed Media Mask-Making + Choreography Carnival!

Our kids camps are split up into two sessions, an art component and a movement component. Students are split into two groups by age and switch sessions halfway through the day.
Art: Mixed Media Mask-Making with Lara Kaminoff
Come learn to create your very own mixed-media paper mache masks! Campers will learn various kinds of mask construction techniques to bring your dream mask to life. Maybe your mask is based on your favorite animal, movie character, mythical creature, or a brand new creation all your own! A treasure chest of mixed media supplies will be available to adorn your masks with: sparkling gems, colorful feathers, cool fabric, acrylic paints and much more!
Movement: Choreography Carnival! with Sophie Schatz Students will learn all about how professional dancers create their own works while getting to see choreography from a wide array of creators. Students will craft their own dance based on these techniques.

Sophie Marie
Sophie Marie is a queer dance artist from Tacoma, WA. Sophie has a degree in Neuroscience and Dance from Bennington College. Sophie’s work focuses on embodiment, folklore and horror. As an avid lover of fairy tales and horror movies, Sophie seeks to create new and weird worlds with her work. They are inspired by nature, myth and monsters.
