Instruction Medium: Graphite
This drawing class is for all the tree lovers out there! Each week, we will go to a new park in Seattle and/or the Eastside to draw a new type of tree, focusing on shape, texture, foliage, and creating depth through light and shadow. This class will teach solid foundational drawing skills while also allowing for individual exploration and choice of subject each week. Come learn how to apply value, experiment with scale, and create dynamic drawings that speak to the beauty of nature.
Supply list:
- Sketchbook – any size
- 1 Pad drawing or mixed media paper – 8”x10” or 9”x12”
- Graphite pencils (H, HB, B, 2B, 4B, 6B, 8B)
- Erasers – kneaded and art gum erasers work the best for graphite
- Stumps – 1-2 in various sizes for blending
- Ruler
- Pencil Sharpener
- Hat
