Drawing on Toned Paper
360 Online Class | Registration opens 7/14/2025 12:00 AM PDT
Instruction Media: Graphite, Charcoal, White pencil
Students will learn how to build a range of values in a drawing, using regular pencils for shading and white pencils for highlights, allowing the tone of the paper to act as a middle value. This can be a fun way to draw, as the drawing typically progresses a bit faster than drawing on white paper. Subjects will include still-life and the human figure. Class format will be a combination of live drawing demo, lecture, and feedback on student works. The class will cover many aspects of drawing, including materials, methods, and techniques.
