Greece, (Officially, The Hellenic Republic) is the birthplace of Western Civilization and one of the most historic places on the planet. In this class, we will explore beautiful, breathtaking Greece and its rich and majestic antiquities. The gifts to the world that came out of this gem of the Mediterranean-Aegean Seas, are relevant to humanity up to this very day. We will learn about these important gifts to humanity, along with what it's like to visit Modern Greece, and how to absorb it all! We will touch upon Greek culture, customs, food, attractions, myths, and, of course, its rich, core language. You'll learn to speak and understand basic words and phrases that will be most useful in your travels there.
Joanna Zervos
Joanna Zervos has taught classes in the Greek language, along with classes about Greece and Greek for Tourists for the Berlitz School of Language, the Greek Orthodox Church, and for the Community College of Allegheny County, She speaks fluent Greek and is passionate about sharing her Greek culture.
