Introduction to Weight Training - Section B

Lifelong Learning | Registration closed 10/1/2024

This course will introduce participants to the basics of training with free weights and cable resistance machines. We will begin with an orientation to the weight room at La Roche, and review safety precautions, as well as weight training terminology. Each session, participants will have the chance to learn new exercises to build their personal weight training repertoire. We will review proper technique, modifications and appropriate load and repetitions. This course is taught by an LRU student who is guided and supervised by Dr. Emily Shimko.

 

This class will run for 6 weeks. If you took this class previously, you must wait until August 26 to register if space is still available. This is a general level fitness class. You may only take one section of Intro to Weight Training each term.
