Can I DIY? Common Fix It That You Can Do! - Lottery

Lifelong Learning | Available (Membership Required)

The purpose of this little educational class is to help you to consider and do repairs and construction for your personal improvement, and maybe even save a little money. My life has mostly had me interested in how things work, how to keep the ‘stuff’ working (I’m cheap… er. frugal), and the satisfaction of doing it myself. You too can do lots of repairs and make reasonable choices when to try to do it yourself, when to ask for advice, and when to leave it up to professionals. One of the most important aspects is to be SAFE when doing anything and considering safety in general. We had a humorous satirical saying at one work place which was “ Safety first… as long as it’s convenient”. Hopefully you really like your self, body parts, and life because, not to be morbid, some fix it tasks or the like can be deadly. Really!

Not to scare you with the above warnings, I want to remind you that you have to keep your brain engaged while doing most things and this is no different.

I hope the best way to keep this interesting and pertinent to each of you is to have a dialogue together and a round table like style. I can certainly blabber on about me although I would like to learn about you and your projects, abilities, as well as desires in this realm of repair.

I have been crafting a wee bit of an outline for topics of importance. With only a 4 week J schedule we’ll try to keep from delving too deep to fit all the aspects of building maintenance and repair types here.

So ask away at any time!

We will do a lottery to determine who is able to register for this course. When you “sign up”, you are signing up for a chance to be in the class due to the small class size. We will tell you by December 16 if you are in the class.
