This course will introduce the students to the antebellum period of United States history, covering a number of historical events beginning with the Missouri Compromise of 1820, and culminating with the outbreak of Civil War in 1861. The objective of the course is to explore the evolution of each historical event and examine the intriguing characters who become history’s key players in telling the story.
