The Gospel of John: The Maverick Gospel?
Lifelong Learning | Registration opens 1/8/2025 9:00 AM EST
Virtually, from its first appearance, the Gospel of John has dominated the Christian understanding of the person of Jesus and his mission. Father Raymond Brown, a Catholic America Biblical Scholar, is recognized by most biblical scholars as the leading expert on the Gospel of John. Father Browen has described the Gospel of John as the “Maverick Gospel” – “A Gospel in which a child can wade, and an elephant can drown…” This course will examine the Gospel of John in its historical, cultural, and theological context.
