Lifelong Learning | Registration opens 1/8/2025 9:00 AM EST
Join us for a fun class that dives further into the art of loom knitting. We will learn a bit about the history of the craft and make loom knit a doll using a 24-peg loom. You will need one skein of colorful yarn for the body and hat and another color of your choice for the face and head. You will learn a new method for casting on and casting off the loom for this project. Please see this link for buying a loom on Amazon: S & E TEACHER'S EDITION Round Knitting Loom Set, 9.5 Inch Diameter, Green. https://a.co/d/98Vnx1s
Members can only take one Loom Knitting class per term.
Sr. Elena Almendarez
Sr. Elena Almendarez, CDP, MA has been a Sister of Divine Providence for many years and ministered in the fields of education, parish ministry, and foster care. Sister Elena has served as a director at Roche University and Kearns Spirituality Center. Last fall, she became the Executive Director for Mission Integration and the University’s Chief Mission Officer. In addition, Sr. Elena has been an “obsessed” loom knitter for the past five years and loom knitted casually before that. She thinks loom knitting is fun and can be as easy or as complicated as a knitter chooses to make it.
