Come explore 65 acres of stunning gardens and serene woodlands in the breathtaking natural beauty of the Allegheny Plateau in southwestern Pennsylvania. This is a reclaimed strip mine, now transformed into gardens with something for everyone. We will have a tour of the facility with expert leaders and educators.
12:30pm Depart LaRoche
1:30pm Arrive Pittsburgh Botanic Gardens in Oakdale
1:45pm Guided narrated tour of outside areas possibly including the lotus pond, a pollinator garden, a dogwood meadow, and more
3:30pm Tour ends--time for rest rooms and gift shop
4:15pm Arrive at 412 Project-Wine and Dinery for dinner
6:00pm Depart for La Roche
Menu will be selected starters, grilled chicken and shrimp, grilled vegetables, rice pilaf, dessert cake. Coffee, tea and sodas included. Cocktails, beer, and wine are at your own expense.
Trip includes guided tour of Pittsburgh Botanical Gardens, dinner, transportation, and all gratuities.
Cost of the Trip - $90 for members; You may bring a guest. Register for guests separately, guests are $100 per person. Deadline to register is May 8.
