Lifelong Learning | Registration opens 5/1/2025 9:00 AM EDT

Instructor Mark Macedonia will guide the students through an exploration of the history of Islam from its roots with the cultural, and geographical factors that influenced Muhammad's transformation through the rise of the various Islamic Empires that appear in the wake of his death. The students will understand the role and history of the various Caliphs who will lead the empires, as well as the historical significance of each empire. We shall examine the contributions of each empire, while also exploring how politics and culture divided and stunted the growth of this historical religious movement.
