Planetarium Centennial Lecture

Join the Introcaso Center for Lifelong Learning and its partners as we celebrate the Centennial of the Planetarium. It will be an inspiring evening celebrating a century of stargazing, science and innovation. Opening remarks will be provided by our own Basic Astronomy instructor, Susan Button, the former president of the International Planetarium Society. The feature presentation will be on the topic “Dark Skies for Astronomy and Birds”, presented by Diane Turnshek, Lecturer at Carnegie Mellon University and Adjunct Faculty at the University of Pittsburgh.

 

Registration is not required, but appreciated. This event is open to members, guests, and the greater community

Diane Turnshek

Diane Turnshek is a lecturer in the Department of Physics at Carnegie Mellon University and the Department of Physics and Astronomy at the University of Pittsburgh. Her light pollution research focuses on measuring the light of cities with drones, aircraft, satellites and astronauts aboard the ISS.
