This class will encourage students to think past mere rendering and deeper into the development of a painting. Emphasis will be on creating mood through thier compositions and incorporating emotion into their work. How to describe form and light with paint is just the beginning, how to transcend the subject matter is a whole other ball of wax. The critical elements of a well designed painting will be practiced and discussed as they relate to the still-life. The lessons of composition, form, value, edges, paint quality, subtlety and personal interpretation will be ongoing topics. Demonstrations, discussions and FUN are also very important aspects of the class. Students will receive plenty of individualized instruction to help them reach their personal goals.
