Learn how to make water look wet and splashy! With an intimate woodsy creek as our inspiration, students will study water in motion. Painting water that looks wet requires some basic knowledge of the dynamics of how water moves and splashes. Reference photos will be supplied or students may use their own. Studio lessons will focus on: color theory, simplified; cascading, splashing water; learning to use minimal "acrylic underpinnings" to set the stage for vibrant colors in your paintings (the small amount of fluid acrylic necessary for this technique will be supplied); negative painting exercises for the watercolorist. There will be demos, instruction, critique and lots of painting time. Class time will be structured, yet open enough to accommodate the artistic spirit within us all. www.juliegilbertpollard.com
