Embrace the freedom that comes from decisive, impasto knife application! During the course of the workshop, students will plan, design, sketch and complete at least two or more compositions and will work wet-into-wet in either oil or acrylic (oil is preferred). The reinforcement of traditional fundamentals will include color theory, values, temperature management, large masses, focal point emphasis, simplification of detail and soft edges. All work will be done with a palette knife, no brushes allowed! Students will learn to identify and solve ‘problems’ ahead of time to ensure beautiful results.
This is a fun, relaxed atmosphere that will push even the most advanced artists out of their comfort zone and open a new door to passionate expressionism. Use your own well-composed landscape, cityscape or seascape photographs or, use some provided by the instructor. This workshop will be interactive, hands-on and offer extensive demonstration and personal feedback from the instructor. www.RPJfineart.com
