Elizabeth will join SAS for 5 days to discuss concepts vital to portrait painting, which can be applied in a variety of other genres. Based on her rigorous classical training with an inclination towards contemporary work, Elizabeth has been able to combine several approaches and will discuss their crossroads in her teaching. Through demos and in-depth discussions of key concepts in painting, her aim is to help students improve their personal work. Elizabeth is an exciting and engaging instructor whose classes sell out regularly. She is truly passionate about teaching and enjoys helping students at any stage of artistic development. Students can expect a great deal of information presented during this five day workshop.

Focus in the workshop will be on structure, anatomy, drawing, light and color; using a sustained portrait pose as the foundation for the concepts presented. Discussion will be geared towards painters, but those more comfortable with drawing are welcome as well.
