In this workshop, Suchitra will teach students the key to simplifying shapes and the essence of how to see accurate color relationships. Students will explore the basis of color theory through small and simple color exercises using the live model. Suchitra will teach students how to see color temperature which will help students to understand how to paint the color of the light. In addition, Suchitra will introduce portrait and figure construction by means of interpreting planes. Bhosle, Suchitra

Suchitra Bhosle is an India-born artist based in California. Suchitra paints in a representational realistic style drawing inspiration from 20th century naturalist painters. She embraces impressionism to depict everyday representational scenes. Suchitra excels at capturing and expressing the mood of her subjects, often in contemplative classical settings. This lends a timeless yet intimate quality to her paintings. Though primarily a portrait and figurative painter, she has recently been painting urban and architectural subjects. Suchitra is represented in leading fine art galleries across USA including Santa Fe, Washington D.C., Carmel and Nashville. Her paintings have won awards at international juried shows hosted by The Portrait Society of America, Oil Painters of America and American Impressionist Society.
