In this workshop, the core elements of successful oil painting will be explored. Drawing on lessons from his recently published book Oil Painting Essentials, Gregg Kreutz will teach and demonstrate the key factors in getting paintings to come to life. Factors such as how to create drama, how to create depth, how to make the paint dynamic, how to give vibrancy to the light, these and other critical issues will be taught through portrait, figure, and still life painting. Kreutz, a celebrated painter and teacher at New York's Art Student's League, believes that a hands-on familiarity with different genres helps painters gain proficiency with whatever subject they choose to paint.
