If you feel that your artwork has become stale and a little predictable, this workshop is calling your name. Larisa will walk students through the process of creating dynamic paintings while rediscovering the joy of creativity. Each day of the workshop students will focus on different subjects: still life, landscape, cityscape, and animals. In addition to the basic principles of painting such as composition, design, values and color mixing, this workshop will teach students how to paint a credible and convincing painting full of energy. Using photo references and flower arrangements, students will learn how to simplify and use structure, colors, and values. Students will move paint around to create dynamic compositions and learn to successfully navigate the painting process from start to finish while staying inspired at each step on the way. Each class will begin with a slideshow and short discussion and a painting and/or drawing demonstration. At the end of each day, students will participate in a teacher-directed “show and tell” hour during which students will discuss their accomplishments and concerns in a fun and lighthearted open environment.
