During this three day class, students will paint a portrait on day one, a still life on day two, and will work from any photographic reference of their choice on day three. This is the perfect class to explore these different subjects under the guidance of an accomplished painter. Students will be offered an understanding of the interrelated areas of study for the painter, these include shape, tone, color and design. The concepts offered are applicable to every subject. Topics include a comparison of the common procedures accomplished painters employ in the execution of their works as well as a discussion of the “marriage” between brush and canvas. Additionally, an hour or two will be carved out to instruct students as to how they may make their own linen mounted panels. Let’s mix it up! www.robertlemler.com
