Over the course of four Saturdays, students will learn the fundamentals and advanced concepts of painting outdoors. Whether your goal is to produce finished paintings outside or merely capture notes for studio paintings later, great work starts with painting from life. This class will reinforce the importance of seeing color accurately, strong composition, simplification, shapes, and value patterns.
Matt will start out each session with a short demonstration, and students will then work on their own paintings (with Matt’s guidance). For the first session, class will meet at Scottsdale Artists’ School and paint on the school grounds. For the remaining three sessions, class will meet in special painting locations nearby (to be announced). www.msterbenz.com
