The importance of drawing and tonal relationships is fundamental to the success of any representational figurative motif. Therefore in this 8 week portion of the Figurative Painting Program students will work solely in monochrome. The value of this study cannot be overemphasized! Topics to be covered include tone, edges, proportions, anatomy, and folds and drapery. Students will complete a cast study, a head study, and will paint both the nude and clothed figure. This session will prepare the committed student for the following block which focuses on color.
