Beautiful set-ups and good fun are promised as students work from the clothed model. Emphasis will be on creating a mood through composition. By posing the model in interesting environments, students will have the opportunity to explore the many facets of painting. The critical elements of a well-designed painting will be discussed including placement, values, edges, and brushwork. Students will be encouraged to incorporate mood and emotion into their paintings, allowing them to move beyond the "studio exercise phase" and into more exciting aspects of creating art. www.nancychabounfineart.com

Chaboun, Nancy

A Native Arizonan, Nancy Chaboun lives and works in North Scottsdale. She was introduced to art at an early age by her father, who studied for years with George Bridgeman at the Art Students League. Nancy studied art at Arizona State University and the Institute Allende in San Miguel de Allende Mexico. At 21 she married her husband, Hilal and began a 15 year career in women's high fashion. Buying from the best European and American designers, as well as doing the visual merchandising and advertising for four stores, helped to develop the sense of taste and elegance she brings to the canvas. Since 1991 she has been happily painting on a full time basis. Nancy also teaches classes and workshops at the Scottsdale Artists' School as well as various locations in U.S., France and Canada. Teaching is something she loves doing and is honored to have many students year after year. In her own work, she is always striving to learn, see and express more deeply with her art.
