An Artist’s best friend is fascinating to draw or paint. In this introductory course, students will draw (charcoal or graphite) and paint in oil (limited color palette) dog subjects from life. Linda will discuss the best way to take photographs of dogs. Students may bring their own photos or use Linda’s photos to work on a painting. Linda will demonstrate and assist students with their own projects. www.lindatraceybrandon.com

Brandon, Linda Tracey

Linda Tracey Brandon is known for her imaginative figurative paintings as well as landscape, still life and portraiture.

Brandon has won several major awards, including First Place at the 2014 Butler Midyear Exhibition and was a Semifinalist at the 2015 Outwin Boocheever Competition at the National Portrait Gallery in Washington, D.C. The artist has also won awards and recognition from the Art Renewal Center and the Portrait Society of America. She was also featured in a 7-artist show at the Customs House Museum in Clarksville, Tennessee.

Brandon regularly teaches portrait drawing and painting at Scottsdale Artists’ School in Scottsdale, Arizona. A native of Michigan, she holds degrees from the University of Michigan and New York University Law School.
