The angular light, the large masses and the energy of city life come together to provide a unique painting and learning experience. Allen will share what he has learned over the past 30 years about painting in both urban and suburban settings. Students will learn: how to compose and simplify through value studies, developing color relationships, equipment and set up strategies, how to place people in the space of one's painting, basic tools for simplified perspective and more. Daily demos and lots of one-on-one help. The first day will be in the studio, reviewing important principles and then 2 and one-half days painting on locations in Phoenix, Tempe and Mesa. The final day will be on location in the morning and then in the studio in the afternoon for a final critique and wrap up. From skyscrapers to downtown bungalows, it will be a fun learning experience. Hope you join us!
