Under the guidance of instructor Mike Garcia, students will explore various strategies for painting the nude model from life in oils. Topics discussed will include color theory, value relationships, anatomy, and composition. Students will begin with short poses on the first day prioritizing individual concepts and then progress to a single long pose for the final session integrating all of the principles and strategies investigated in class. These exercises will demystify the art of oil painting and refashion it into a practical yet flexible process.
