This workshop will help develop skill building and problem solving in capturing texture in your paintings. Subjects such as metal, glass, wood, twine or string, organic forms, paper and fabric will all be covered. This is a ‘Choose Your Own Adventure’ of the specific textures you’d like to master, and your opportunity to bring what inspires you to paint with one-on-one individual instruction. The formal elements of representational painting will be addressed such as form, value, color theory, drawing and composition, and practical studio tips will also be included. Varnishing and making oil transfers, along with daily painting demos and presentations, are an important part of the workshop. Natalie will share and discuss her experiences over a 25-year career such as working with galleries, the art business, photographing and cataloging your work, and how to promote your art on social media.
