Tina Garrett
Just a few short years after beginning to learn to oil paint in 2012 at the Scottsdale Artists' School, Tina Garrett began to receive recognition for her work by major art organizations such as Oil Painters of America, the Art Renewal Center, and the Portrait Society of America. A realist figurative and portrait painter, Garrett’s work and process is heavily influenced by the modern master, Richard Schmid, and she has studied oil painting in workshops under many artists who studied directly under Schmid including Daniel Keys, Jeremy Lipking, Michelle Dunaway, Romel de la Torre, Cathy Anderson and Casey Baugh.
Tina holds an Associate Degree in Visual Communications from The Colorado Institute of Art and enjoyed a successful freelance illustration career before evolving into a professional, fine art oil painter. In 2015, Garrett earned an ARC Associate Living Master designation. Today, she teaches a wide variety of oil painting workshops at venues across the U.S. and abroad including the Scottsdale Artists’ School, Denver Art Students League, The Florence Studio Italy and Dutch Atelier of Realist Art in the Netherlands. Tina is a proud mentor for the Portrait Society of America Cecilia Beaux Forum, the PSoA State Ambassador for Kansas and Western Missouri, and Faculty at the Portrait Society of America Art of the Portrait Conference.
