Painting Textures in Still Life and Trompe L’Oeil” will develop skill building and problem solving in capturing texture in your paintings. Subjects such as metal, glass, wood, twine or string, paper and fabric will all be covered. We’ll discuss specialized tools and techniques you can make at home that will take your textures to the next level.
Guidance and critique of your painting as we paint side-by-side from the same reference is an integral part of the workshop. I’ll demo each step of my process from beginning to end in an easy to follow format, and you can ask questions in real time. This workshop will be recorded and available for you to rewatch at your leisure.
You’ll get a diagram of my palette, my mixing strategy with specific paint colors I’ll use, and a downloadable high resolution image of our reference material. Also included is a list of special texture tools you can make at home and incorporate into your own work.
