Have you dabbled with oil painting, but feel you need to expand your knowledge and techniques? This class is designed not only for those who have gone through Oil Painting 101 and 102, but also for those who are comfortable in their foundation training and need help to pinpoint their biggest opportunities for growth in their painting. Students will work in a limited palette (if they do not have a set palette that they are comfortable using already) to learn to create a color system that forms a solid foundation for them to build upon. The focus of the first week will be on Alla Prima still life, learning how to capture the essence of the subject, while identifying colors and values quickly. In subsequent weeks, students will work on a multi-session painting (either still life or from a photograph) so they can start moving toward the subject and style of their choosing. www.mikegarciafineart.com
