Splash, splatter, drips and streaks, watercolor is a fun and exciting medium for painting loose
and expressive portraits! In this 3-week course Annette will demonstrate her process of
drawing and painting expressive portraits in watercolor.
Each session will begin with a demo, drawing the portrait from a photo image then bringing it
to life with watercolor. Annette will cover how to use proportion and facial structure to draw a
convincing likeness. After the drawing, she will develop the painting explaining her use of
color, mixing flesh tones, brushwork, and how to control edges.
There will be a different photo for each session. Students are encouraged to use the photo
provided for at home exercises but are welcome to use their own photo reference if they
choose.
Students will receive critiques.
The class will be recorded and available via streaming for additional two months.
