Painting a portrait which includes parts of the figure is a way for the artist to further enhance aspects of the subject’s character. We will have the same model for two days, in the same pose, allowing you to make substantial progress on your painting. We will also be putting some thought and time into how to pose the model. (You could, of course, work on more than one painting and possibly set up from another vantage point, if you like.) Linda will be discussing gesture, clothing, design, composition and emotional impact as well as demonstrating basic concepts such as accurate drawing, color mixing and paint application. Students of all levels are welcome to take the class but some experience of working from life is encouraged. www.lindatraceybrandon.com

Linda is a graduate of the University of Michigan, where she won honors for her hand-drawn animated films. She is also a graduate of NYU School of Law. Linda has won numerous regional and national awards and has many collectors around the world. She is represented by Portraits Inc. in Birmingham, Alabama and Abend Gallery in Denver, Colorado.
