This painting workshop focuses on the anatomical structures of the eyes, nose, mouth and ears designed to teach artists how to capture realistic structure and proportions specifically in the features. The workshop will reveal and put a name to the anatomical elements that are under the skin such as muscle, bone and cartilage that directly affect the shading and planes of the features. Nicole Troup will also cover key principles such as proportions, structural planes, learning to see large forms first then detailing, light and shadow, skin tone and blending. She will give step by step demonstrations for each facial feature and then allow each student to work on their own paintings while offering constructive critiques and guidance. The workshop will span 3 consecutive Saturdays, giving students the opportunity to work on their art in between.
