The Nude in Charcoal and Chalk
Class | Available
In tonal drawing, values—the pattern of light and shadow—provides the illusion of luminosity, depth, and atmosphere. Value control is a fundamental skill for any artist interested in producing realistic work, and value drawings produced with the medium of charcoal and chalk on toned paper imparts a unique ethereality. Using a life model as a subject for their class drawings, Mike will guide students as they explore value relationships, proportions, gesture, shape design, and the expressive, painterly qualities of charcoal and chalk. www.mikegarciafineart.com
