Ready for Carnegie Hall!
Musical recital by Kevin Vogelsang, piano; Terry Moore, violin; and Sarah Schenkman, cello
This delightful and impressive recital for three instruments was created in Savannah in 2020 as a fundraiser to help Kevin Vogelsang’s choir join others for a concert scheduled to play at Carnegie Hall. But the pandemic insidiously intervened. Now, almost three years later, the original musicians reprise their long-rehearsed work for an eager audience at The Learning Center, with music by Haydn, Debussy, and even tangos by the twentieth-century Argentine composer Astor Piazzolla.
Kevin Vogelsang is the recently retired director of music at Isle of Hope Methodist Church; Terry Moore, formerly concertmaster of the Hilton Head Symphony Orchestra, teaches violin and performs with other area musicians; Sarah Schenkman was principal cellist with the Hilton Head Symphony, and now divides her time between teaching cello and playing chamber music.
