The Learning Center, in cooperation with the City of Savannah Municipal Archives, presents the Memory Partners Program training at the debut of Everyone Has a Story, an initiative of Senior Citizens, Inc. This oral history project will record the stories of older adults, in their own voices, for preservation in the City of Savannah’s Municipal Archives for access by future generations.

MEMORY PARTNERS PROGRAM
Training Includes:

• Oral History Principles, Standards, and Best Practices

• Oral History Collection and Interview Skills

• Practice in Conducting Oral Histories

Following training, participants will be equipped to contribute to the Everyone Has a Story project, as well as leverage their new-found knowledge in their own projects.

  • The Savannah Community Memory Project (SCMP) is a wide-ranging initiative of the City of Savannah Municipal Archives to preserve and share a more complete history of Savannah’s diverse communities in their own voices. Under SCMP, the Memory Partners Program aims to provide community members with the knowledge and tools they need to preserve their history though oral history collection.
