SHAKESPEARE AND THE INVENTION OF THE MODERN MIND

This course considers Shakespeare’s sonnets, along with King Lear, Macbeth, Othello, Hamlet, The Tempest, A Midsummer Night’s Dream, and Measure for Measure. The focus is Shakespeare’s stunning understanding of consciousness of one’s own consciousness.
