Middlemarch by George Eliot
3:30-5:00 pm Fridays, January 10 through March 7
Middlemarch, A Study of Provincial Life is considered a masterpiece by British author George Eliot (pseudonym of Mary Ann Evans).Written in the 1870s and set forty years earlier, Middlemarch takes on politics, religion, marriage, education, and even medicine. In other words, its themes are remarkably modern! The Friday Reading Forum has become a standard among TLC’s courses, offering a small-group setting in which texts are engaged in a collegial atmosphere.
