WOODROW WILSON

After his “New Freedom” program introduced further Progressive reforms, he led the nation to victory in World War One. He then promoted a League of Nations to prevent future wars.

HARRY TRUMAN

Unprepared for the presidency, he promoted NATO to contain communism and won an upset victory in 1948.

DWIGHT EISENHOWER

Byron Boyd holds a PhD in history from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. He taught Advanced Placement courses in American and European history for several decades at Savannah Country Day School, and lectured at Georgia Southern and Armstrong State Universities. In retirement, he teaches regularly for The Learning Center.
