AMERICAN EXCEPTIONALISM

Tuesday Programs | Available

Ed Eckstrand

From first landings and settling the continent, the development of America has offered an exceptional outlook. Historians from De Tocqueville through Frederick Jackson Turner to Seymour Lipset have documented both the development and the philosophy. What are the elements of that philosophy? How do they apply to the nation now and in the future? Examining the elements of the American creed and where they came from may provide answers.

Ed Eckstrand is the author of two books and a radio host on WRUU-FM. He is a past presiĀdent of the Savannah Art Association and a past member of the Greater Savannah International Alliance. American history formed a substantial part of his education and has been of continuing interest ever since.
