Richard Braithwaite

Shakespeare’s telling phrase from The Tempest prompts an exploration of literary “demons”: Satan in Paradise Lost, Holden Caulfield in The Catcher in the Rye, RP McMurphy in One Flew Over the Cuckoo’s Nest, and Judge Holden in Blood Meridian. Other works for class consideration include Blake’s “Don Juan,” Moby-Dick, Crime and Punishment, and A Clockwork Orange. Richard Braithwaite is a novelist, lecturer, and teacher. His AB (Dartmouth) and his MFA (University of Florida) are in literature and fiction writing. He has led more than a dozen courses at The Learning Center.

  • This program is offered in-person only.
