Bombings in Japan and the capture of Manilla change the course of the War in the Pacific, just as Western allies and Russia invade Nazi Germany.

Byron Boyd holds a PhD in history from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill.  He taught Advanced Placement courses in American and European history for several decades at Savannah Country Day School, and lectured at Georgia Southern and Armstrong State Universities.  In retirement, he teaches regularly at The Learning Center.
