Edith Wharton’s 1920 masterpiece puts forward questions of love and the constraints of marriage, of personal happiness and the confines of society, all amid the burgeoning Gilded Age of 1870s New York City. Facilitators Leigh Rich and Marc Thomas join enthusiastic readers for this close examination of The Age of Innocence.
Leigh E. Rich is a professor in GSU’s Department of Health Sciences. Her research focuses on feminism and medicine in pop culture and literature.
Marc Thomas is a retired librarian, bureaucrat, archivist, and poet. He is a frequent facilitator for book clubs at TLC.
