For more than 70 years, Betty White broke boundaries as a woman in entertainment, first in radio, then in TV and movies, later in publication, and throughout as an advocate for animals, minorities, and the LGBTQ community. This exploration of White’s life and work includes screenings of some of her best-known TV episodes, passages from her books, and discussions of her development not only as an entertainer, but also as a leader in the entertainment industry.
Recently retired from Georgia Southern University, Nancy Remler is an author, teacher, and teacher educator. Under her pen name Nancy Brandon, she is the author of two novels, Dunaway’s Crossing and Show Me a Kindness, both of which she debuted at The Learning Center.
