SHOOTING THE SOUTH
Tuesday Programs | Available
Catherine Lewis
1:00 - 2:00 pm | Tuesday, January 13
Free to those who enroll in The American South in Cinema course.
Six themes emerge in films about the American South: the plantation and its legacies, the Civil War and civil rights, southern society and the law, terror and brutality, humor and hope, and southern feminism. Catherine Lewis speaks to these motifs in a lecture rich in history and film references. Dr. Lewis is Kennesaw State University’s Associate Vice Provost in charge of museums, archives, and rare books, as well as a member of the history faculty.
